Holding Space for Empathy & Discipline in Change
Summary
The world is a crazy place. There’s even an acronym to describe the craziness – VUCA – which stands for volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity. This acronym appeared near the end of the last century during a shift in the world’s military power.
For Change professionals, your workplace should not be a war zone, and VUCA should not describe your culture. Numerous things influence your ability to influence VUCA, such as leadership, management, skills, experience, tools, discipline, and empathy. You can combat VUCA in the workplace. The right tools give you competence, confidence, and courage to continuously maximize your team’s discipline and empathy. Solve – don’t surrender to – VUCA.
